Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 October 2026 · Version 1.0 · The Romanian version is the reference version; this is a translation.

In short. BIBS helps you organise your group's football games. To do that we use your name, email address, profile picture (if you add one), the teams you belong to, your attendance and the skill ratings set by team admins. We do not sell data, show ads, use trackers or track you across other apps or websites. You can delete your account at any time, right inside the app.

4. Who sees what in the app

5. Data about other people

Admins can add guest players (people without a BIBS account) to lists with a name, a rating and a position, and can invite people by email. When you do so, please add only what is needed (e.g. a first name) and let the person know. An invited person receives a single invitation email and can ask for their data to be deleted by writing to privacy@getbibs.app.

6. Recipients and providers (processors)

We do not sell or rent personal data. We disclose it only to providers that help us run the service, under data processing agreements (Art. 28 GDPR), and only as far as needed:

Independent controllers. Apple and Google process data on their own behalf when you download the app, pay for a subscription, use “Sign in with Apple / Google” or receive notifications on your device; their own privacy policies apply to that processing.

Authorities. We disclose data to public authorities only when the law requires us to.

Transfer of the service. If the BIBS service is assigned or sold to another person or business, data may pass to the new controller, who will be bound by this policy; we will tell you in advance.

7. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

The database is hosted in the EU. Some providers (Expo, RevenueCat and, depending on the choice, the email provider) are based in the USA, so some data may be transferred there. We make such transfers only with the safeguards of Chapter V GDPR: the adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for certified providers, or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR) with supplementary measures (encryption in transit, data minimisation). You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.

8. How long we keep data

DataRetention
Account and profileWhile the account is active. When you delete your account, identifying data is removed immediately (see section 9).
Password reset linksValid for 30 minutes; deleted automatically within one hour of expiry.
Email confirmation linksValid for 48 hours; deleted automatically within one hour of expiry.
Email invitationsValid for 14 days. Invitations concerning you are deleted when you delete your account.
Sign-in sessions (including IP and user agent)Up to 60 days after the last refresh, then deleted automatically.
Push tokensUntil you sign out on the device, delete your account, or Apple/Google report the token as invalid.
Audit log2 years, then deleted automatically. When you delete your account, your name is removed from entries.
Server technical logsAt most 30 days.
Team match historyWhile the team exists. After account deletion the history is no longer linked to your account (see section 9).
Subscription dataWhile the team exists; accounting records as long as the law requires (usually 5 or 10 years under Romanian Accounting Law 82/1991).
Support correspondenceUp to 2 years after the last message, unless needed to establish or defend a legal claim.
BackupsOverwritten on a rolling basis; deleted data disappears from backups within at most 30 days.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the app: More → Your profile → Account → Delete your account. You can also ask by email. Full details, including what is kept and why, are on the Account deletion page.

In short, on deletion: your name becomes “Former player”, your email is replaced with an unusable address, your password and Google/Apple links are removed, your picture and nicknames are deleted, you leave every team, your invitations and devices are deleted and you are signed out everywhere. An internal identifier with no identifying data remains so other players' history stays correct. Lists of games already played may still show the display name you had at the time.

Subscriptions: deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in the store settings.

10. Your rights

Under Art. 15-22 GDPR you have the right to:

Write to privacy@getbibs.app from the address linked to your account. We reply free of charge within one month (extendable by two more months for complex requests, in which case we will tell you). We may ask for information to confirm your identity.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian supervisory authority, Autoritatea Nationala de Supraveghere a Prelucrarii Datelor cu Caracter Personal (ANSPDCP), B-dul G-ral. Gheorghe Magheru nr. 28-30, Sector 1, Bucharest, www.dataprotection.ro, or with the authority of the country where you live or work.

11. Minimum age

BIBS is intended for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 16 and we do not collect parental consent. If you learn that a child under 16 has created an account, write to us and we will delete it. Admins must not add children under 16 as guest players.

12. Push notifications

The app asks for permission to send notifications; you can refuse or withdraw it at any time in your phone settings. You can also choose which notifications you receive per team (signups open, sides ready, match day, announcements). Notifications are sent through Expo to Apple Push Notification service (iOS) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) and contain short texts about team activity, such as the team name and kick-off time. We do not send advertising notifications.

13. Cookies and trackers

This website uses no cookies, trackers, pixels or analytics. The website's hosting provider may technically record IP addresses and browser details in its own logs for security.

The app uses no cookies, advertising identifiers or tracking SDKs and does not track you across other apps or websites. On your phone we store locally only what is strictly necessary: authentication tokens (in the system's secure storage - Keychain / Keystore) and preferences such as theme, language and the selected team.

14. Security

No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach poses a risk, we will notify ANSPDCP and, where the risk is high, you, in line with Art. 33-34 GDPR.

15. Automated decisions

The app automatically splits players into sides using skill ratings and can toss a coin automatically. These operations organise a friendly game, can be adjusted by admins and have no legal or similarly significant effect on you; we do not carry out profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

16. Changes

We may update this policy. The last-updated date is shown at the top. We will tell you about significant changes in the app or by email before they take effect.
