Deleting your BIBS account
The BIBS app is developed and published by IORDAN ROBERT-ADRIAN PERSOANA FIZICA AUTORIZATA. You can delete your account and its associated data at any time, free of charge, in the app or by email request.
Option 1: in the app (immediate)
- Open BIBS and sign in.
- Tap the More tab.
- Tap Your profile.
- Under Account, tap Delete your account, then Delete my account.
- Confirm it's you: enter your password and tap Delete my account for good or, if you sign in with Google or Apple, tap Confirm with Google / Confirm with Apple. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
Are you the Admin+ (owner) of a team? Before deleting, you must hand the team over to another member or archive it (in the team settings). Otherwise the team would be left with nobody to manage it; the app shows which teams are blocking deletion.
Just want to stop being part of a group? You don't need to delete your account: you can leave that team only.
Option 2: email request
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in:
- Send an email to privacy@getbibs.app with the subject “Delete BIBS account”, from the email address linked to your account.
- If you signed up with Apple and hid your real address, write from your Apple ID address and say so; we will help identify the account.
- If you write from a different address, we may ask for additional confirmation of your identity so we do not delete someone else's account.
We acknowledge your request and complete the deletion within 30 days at the latest (usually within a few working days), then send you a confirmation. If you are the Admin+ of an active team, we will ask who should take it over or whether to archive it.
What is deleted
- your name (replaced with “Former player”) and nickname, including in-team nicknames;
- your email address (replaced with an unusable internal address; you can use yours for a new account);
- your password and links to your Google or Apple account;
- your profile picture, also removed from file storage;
- your membership of every team (you leave all teams, and your places on upcoming lists go to reserves);
- invitations sent to your address;
- your devices and push notification tokens; all sessions are ended;
- your name in teams' audit logs.
What is kept, and for how long
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| An internal account identifier with no name, email, picture or sign-in data, marked “deleted” | So team history (games, attendance, generated sides) stays correct for the other players | As long as those teams exist |
| The display name shown at the time in lists of games already played and in requests/ideas previously sent to a team | The group's shared history; the minimum needed for other people's results to make sense | As long as the team exists. You can ask us by email to remove it and we will consider the request. |
| Skill ratings and attendance stats, linked only to the internal identifier | Integrity of the team history | As long as the team exists |
| Audit log entries (without name or email) | Security and dispute resolution | Up to 2 years from the action, then deleted automatically |
| Subscription data for a team you paid for, and accounting records | Legal accounting and tax obligations | As long as the law requires (usually 5-10 years) |
| Server technical logs | Security | Up to 30 days |
| Backups | Recovery after an incident | Overwritten on a rolling basis within 30 days |
| Correspondence about the deletion request | Proof the request was fulfilled | Up to 2 years |
Subscriptions: deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in the store settings: on iPhone, Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
